General Description

The Electrical Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of electrical components within asphalt plants and aggregate crushing facilities.

Key Duties

  • Installation, troubleshooting, and maintaining PLC’s, HMI interfaces, motors, drives, other electrical components.
  • Test and repair of various electrical equipment.
  • Assist in facility startup and new equipment installations.
  • Involvement in the planning and execution of new wiring installations or upgrades.
  • Work with facility staff and mechanical department to create more operator friendly and robust systems.
  • Ability to effectively work within and maintain company safety standards and policies.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualification Requirements

  • General. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each Key Duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Education and Experience. This position is not typically an entry-level role as it requires basic electrical knowledge.
    • Minimum of one (13) to three (3) years of experience troubleshooting electrical/mechanical systems is required.
    • Must have a safety and quality focused mindset.
    • Journeyman or master electrician license is preferred.
    • Must be familiar with and understand National Electric Code standards.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment.
    • Willingness to learn new processes and ability to teach facility personnel.
  • Physical Demands. The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an Electrical Maintenance Technician to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
    • Regularly required to sit and/or stand during a regular work shift of at least eight hours per day.
    • Employee is occasionally required to stoop, bend, walk, crouch, and climb.
    • Ability to lift, on a frequent basis, at least 25 pounds and carry up to 15 pounds.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
    • Continuous mental attention required to complete tasks in an efficient manner.
    • Exposure to dust, dirt grease and noise.
    • Frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground and slopes in varying weather conditions.
    • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, based on project need(s) and demand(s).

  • Work Environment. The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those that an Electrical Maintenance Technician encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
    • Work is performed indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
    • Must be able to work flexible and long hours as required.
    • Work environment periodically exposes the employees to high levels of noise, grease, and dust that is typically associated with a construction site.
    • Employee regularly works near heavy equipment and moving machinery.
    • Work may involve a variety of substances commonly found on a construction site such as oil, grease, curing compounds, gasoline, diesel fuel and asphalt.
