Project Manager – Electrical Contracting

Northstar Electric is seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager to join our growing team. This full-time, salaried position is ideal for a knowledgeable and detail-oriented professional with a background in electrical contracting and a strong track record in managing large-scale commercial, multifamily, and public-sector projects, including work with school districts, retail developments, and restaurants.
At Northstar Electric, we take pride in delivering high-quality, safe, and efficient electrical solutions. Our project managers work closely with our general manager, estimators, and field foremen to ensure seamless coordination from estimation through final project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
· Manage multiple electrical projects simultaneously, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget expectations are met or exceeded.
· Work closely with estimators to develop accurate bids, comprehensive scopes of work, and cost-effective solutions.
· Maintain clear communication with clients, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
· Oversee project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, schedules, change orders, and progress reports.
· Ensure compliance with all municipal and state electrical codes, permit requirements, and safety standards.
· Conduct site visits to verify progress and quality, assist with issue resolution, and support field personnel.
· Coordinate and lead project meetings, both internally and with clients or general contractors.
· Approve project billings, manage budgets, and track job costs throughout the project lifecycle.
Preferred Qualifications:
· 5+ years of experience as an Electrical Project Manager or Estimator within a commercial or industrial setting.
· Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, methods, and applicable codes.
· Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
· Skilled in project scheduling, budgeting, and document management software.
· Team-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
· A.S. degree in construction management or related field preferred.
· Proficient with Accubid Pro in order to accurately provide estimates
· Bluebeam and excel knowledge is also preferred to aid as a takeoff software
