Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Analog Electronics Repair Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating a variety of analog and some digital aircraft engine instruments sent in by our customers. We already have one troubleshooter, we are looking to add a second. As we get caught up and more organized in repair, the two people in this position will share calibration and assist with manufacturing/assembly tasks when there are no repairs or calibration to perform. We are looking for a team player who doesn't think they are above other tasks within the manufacturing facility and are willing to help where needed.
Key Responsibilities and Skills:
- Strong understanding of analog and digital circuits and components (e.g., resistors, transistors, diodes, A/D converters, amplifiers).
- Skilled in troubleshooting to the component level with minimal problem description.
- Troubleshoot and repair analog and digital electronic circuits to the component level.
- Read and interpret schematics, instrument manuals, and technical documentation.
- Proficiently solder surface-mount and through-hole components.
- Utilize various test equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators.
- Calibrate instruments to ensure accurate readings.
- Create and update documentation for instruments, including repair procedures, revisions, and modifications.
- Consult with our calibrator and engineers to gather information needed for repairs and procedures.
- Save and load instrument configurations, including storing and retrieving data from our in-house server.
- Estimate time and parts required for repairs and advise on whether it's more cost-effective to repair or replace an instrument.
- Work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.
- Possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proven experience in troubleshooting and repairing analog circuits is essential. Please highlight your relevant experience in your application.
- Experience with technical writing and documentation is a plus.
- Must not be color blind (ability to read wire and resistor color codes is necessary).
