- Before and after school hours ELP, organizes, coordinates and supervises the Extended Learning Programs (ELP) for students at an assigned site in accordance with the Tennessee State Department of Education standards of School-Administered Child Care (Chapter 0520-12-01) and the public extended day outline.
- Ensures program compliance with all applicable District policies and procedures, state and federal laws and regulations, and standards of quality programming and safety. Interprets policies, procedures, laws and regulations for staff and parents as necessary.
- Supervises ELP staffs and makes recommendations for staff selection, evaluation, discipline, and terminations to ELP Manager.
- Develops activities for implementation at school site. Develops procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all children while on school site grounds.
- Develops age-appropriate programs and activities for students in grades PreK-12 including literacy enrichment, instructional interventions, homework assistance, meal time, recreational and structured play and organizes special events.
- Implements improvements to enhance services, to achieve goals and to ensure compliance.
- Maintains financial records and creates reports as required.
- Ensures the maintenance of accurate and complete student records at school sites.
- Performs general administrative work as required including entering and retrieving computer data, preparing reports and correspondence, copying, and filing documents, sending, and retrieving faxes and emails, answering the telephone and ordering supplies.
- Shall complete at least eighteen (18) hours of professional development each school year.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education level
Minimum experience required
Graduation from an accredited four-year (4 year) college.
One (1) year of full-time experience in a group setting. Experience may be paid or unpaid. (2 years school-age care experience = 1 year full-time experience)
Sixty (60) semester hours of college training, with at least thirty (30) hours of which shall be in business or management, child or youth development, early childhood education or related field.
Two (2) years of full-time experience in a group setting. Experience may be paid or unpaid. (2 years school-age care experience = 1 year full-time experience)
High school diploma (or equivalent), and Tennessee Early Childhood Training Alliance (TECTA) certificate for completing thirty (30) clock hours of orientation training, or the equivalent as recognized by the Department.
Four (4) years of full-time experience in a group setting. Experience may be paid or unpaid. (2 years school-age care experience = 1 year full-time experience)

Degree Equivalency Formula:
Master’s Degree=6 years plus required years of experience.
