We are seeking a dedicated and skilled EMT-Basic to join our emergency medical services team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality pre-hospital emergency care to patients in various situations. As an EMT-Basic, you will play a crucial role in patient assessment, stabilization, and transportation to medical facilities, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care during critical moments.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine the nature and extent of injuries or illnesses.
- Administer basic life support (BLS) and perform vital sign checks as needed.
- Utilize aseptic techniques to prevent infection when providing care.
- Safely drive emergency vehicles while adhering to traffic laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with emergency room staff at Level I Trauma Centers for seamless patient handoff.
- Assist in triage situations to prioritize patient care based on severity of conditions.
- Maintain equipment and supplies in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Document all patient interactions and care provided accurately and promptly.
Requirements
- Valid EMT-Basic certification from an accredited program.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to emergency care.
- Experience in critical care settings is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions during emergencies.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Must be physically fit to perform the demands of the job, including lifting patients and equipment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
