Job Overview
Seeking a part time or per diem, experienced, motivated Endoscopy Technicians to join our newly opened ASC in North Las Vegas.
GI Tech should be proficient in assisting the physician performing colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, specimen retrieval while continuously practicing infection control. Assists in appropriate care, including but not limited to : handling, cleaning and disinfecting endoscopy equipment and instruments; stocking room at end of day, prepping specimens to be sent to the pathology lab.
Reliability is a must.
Weekend schedule may be required per the facility needs.
4-6 hour/ shift, and 1-2 days a week. current schedule is on Friday and Weekend Morning only. Full time position may be offered in 6 months.
Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour/ Pay based on experience.
The Gastroenterology Technician plays a vital role in supporting the gastroenterology department by assisting healthcare professionals in providing high-quality patient care. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, as well as proficiency in aseptic techniques and diagnostic evaluations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate a commitment to maintaining patient safety and comfort.
Responsibilities
- Assist physicians and nurses during gastrointestinal procedures and examinations.
- Prepare and maintain medical equipment for procedures, ensuring all tools are sterile and functioning properly.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations, including medical imaging, to support accurate diagnoses.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation throughout the procedure process.
- Educate patients about procedures, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
- Follow strict aseptic techniques to prevent infection during procedures.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure efficient workflow and optimal patient care.
- Monitor patients' vital signs during procedures and report any abnormalities to the supervising physician or nurse.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to gastroenterology.
- Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and equipment used in diagnostic evaluations.
- Understanding of aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety during procedures.
- Knowledge of human physiology and anatomy relevant to gastrointestinal health.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact compassionately with patients.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
