Position Summary: The Engineering Manager is responsible for designing and project management of custom industrial water & chemical collection, transfer, and treatment systems. This role leads and supervises a team of engineers as they design, develop, test, modify, and create custom solutions to technical problems.
Essential Functions:
· Oversee all aspects of project management with project engineers, drafters, electrical engineers, programmers and shop personnel to successfully deliver equipment to the customer. This includes creating drawings, submittals, and manuals; purchasing of parts; manufacturing and testing equipment.
· Provide review and modification of engineering work done by direct reports to ensure conformity to system specs and quotes, reduce cost, increase reliability and ease of maintenance, and solve problems as the occur. Review can occur at various stages of the project, including prior to submittal, prior to release for manufacturing, during manufacturing, and after shipment to ensure accuracy of work being performed.
· Develop direct reports to further improve their skill sets. Training includes general (systems provided by Burt, general project management skills) to specific (how to specify a pump, valve).
· Responsible for general management of direct reports (includes: mentoring/coaching, training, performance review, vacation management, resolving internal issues and question, etc.).
· Review each new manufacturing job, and assign a project manager, project engineer, drafter, and electrical engineer. Assignments are decided based on employee workload and previous experience with similar projects
· Interact with the Manufactured Systems Sales Manager and team to ensure smooth new project transfers, and ultimately complete customer satisfaction, while maintaining the targeted bottom line.

Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s in engineering is required. (Mechanical or Chemical preferred).
· MBA (preferred).
· 5-10 years of project management (preferably in custom skid manufacturing).
· 5 years of experience in a management position.
· Professional Engineering license (preferred).
· Knowledge of general mechanical and chemical engineering principles, specifically including fluid mechanics, structural, heat transfer, chemical compatibility.
· Familiar with computers/software including MS office package, CAD, etc.
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to lift 10 lbs. unaided
· Must be able to sit for long periods of time
· Must be able to type, bend and reach
· Must be able to travel at least 5% of the time
Environment:

· Exposure to industrial conditions when visiting customers and touring their facilities.
