Position Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on, technically grounded Engineering Manager to lead and grow a small multidisciplinary team of Electrical and Software Engineers (5–7 total). This role requires a strong balance of people leadership, project execution, and engineering discipline. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in embedded systems, digital design, or RF/hardware systems and be passionate about building high-performing engineering teams focused on delivery, accountability, and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Development
- Provide day-to-day leadership, mentorship, and career development to a team of electrical, software, and embedded engineers.
- Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and support team growth through feedback and training.
- Project Execution & Delivery
- Drive technical execution across multiple development projects, ensuring on-time and on-spec delivery.
- Work closely with product management and executive leadership to align priorities and manage resource allocation.
- Process & Technical Oversight
- Champion structured engineering practices including design reviews, requirement definition, documentation, validation, and verification.
- Coordinate with QA and production to ensure design readiness for manufacturing and test.
- Cross-functional Coordination
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Production, QA, Test, and Sales Engineering) to support seamless integration across the product lifecycle.
- Represent engineering in customer or program meetings as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in engineering roles, with at least 2+ years in a formal technical leadership or management position.
- Proven experience managing projects and teams working in embedded systems, FPGA/ASIC development, hardware, or software engineering.
- Strong understanding of engineering development cycles, ISO 9001 or similar process frameworks, and structured release practices.
- Excellent communication, prioritization, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in aerospace or defense industries.
- Telecommunications background
- Familiarity with JIRA, Git, and other team collaboration tools.
- Exposure to ISO 9001, CMMI, or other structured quality systems.
- Hands-on background in digital design, RF systems, or embedded software a plus.
- Experience developing rack mounted products used in a DOD ground benign environment is a plus

Pay: $150,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
