Role Summary:
Main task of this role is the holistic project coordination with different stakeholders. These includes the US local sensor, ECU and functional development, as well as the interface to the developing departments in Germany. At last the responsibility of the approval recommendation is also situated in this role. The role itself is comparable to the department “product line” at Audi.
An additional focus of this role is the complete responsibility for building up a general project management (incl. project management process) for the US-hub.
This person will be responsible for supporting all the project management related activities at the US-HUB.
Role Responsibilities:
Project lead ADAS (80%)
- Identify Requirements of ADAS project
- Alignment between stakeholders (functional responsibility, sensor responsibility, external stakeholders (suppliers, development departments Germany, testing etc.)
- Defining approval scope
- Reporting of project
- Generate approval recommendation
- Coordinate complete activities (from requirements level to car level incl. commissioning of contractors.
- Strategic development of ADAS projects at the US-Hub.
- Resource planning
General Project management US-HUB (20%)
- Identify the required scope of a general project management for US-Hub.
- Align methods
- Rolling out a project management tool set for US-Hub.
- Strategic development of project management methods.
Qualifications
Years of Experience:
- 7+ years of work experience
Education – Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, computer science or comparable)
Education – Desired:
- Master’s or PhD in in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, computer science or comparable)
Skills:
- Knowledge of Volkswagen Group/ AUDI AG internal product development processes and related IT-Systems
- Knowledge of Volkswagen Group/ AUDI AG internal IT processes, infrastructure and Service/ Support structure
- Wide and reliable network within AUDI AG and the Volkswagen Group
- Excellent planning and organization, project management and time management skills
- Project management (desirable in innovative technology environment and agile methods)
- Effective analytical and conceptual skills to derive adequate solutions for technical problems
- Ability to solve complex problems
- Ability to work independently

Specialized Skills – Required:
- Excellent knowledge of project- and development processes of Audi and VW group.
- Wide network across the development departments of VW group.
- Proven working experience as a senior project leader in ADAS >5 years
- Expertise in Sensor Technologies.
- Proven hands-on experience & responsibility with development and approval of a Sensor and a ECU >5years
- Hands-on experience with application projects of ADAS.
- Excellent knowledge of technical and logical architecture on ADAS roadmap.
- Excellent knowledge of VW Group internal software like IDEX, AVx, System 42, DOORS, KPM etc.
- Strong English language and German language skills (written and spoken)
Specialized Skills – Desired:
- Knowledge of VW Group internal softwares like IDEX, AVx, System 42, ADTV, DOORS etc
Work Flexibility:
- Flexibility to travel (domestic and international)
- Full time position
In the Silicon Valley, the salary range for this role will be $155,000 - $175,000, depending on education and years of relevant experience.
Salary is determined by geographical location and adjusted accordingly. Other benefits for this position include:
