Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Technician II with 4–6 years of relevant hands-on experience to join our engineering team. This position is responsible for performing standard assembly and testing procedures, troubleshooting minor issues, ensuring quality control, and supporting engineering efforts across departments. The ideal candidate is reliable, technically skilled, and ready to contribute to process improvements and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform standard assembly and testing procedures with minimal supervision.
- Troubleshoot and maintain mechanical and electrical systems, including logic controllers and instrumentation.
- Read and interpret complex technical manuals, schematics, blueprints, and engineering documentation.
- Use a variety of assembly and test tools, including precision instruments and diagnostic equipment.
- Conduct detailed quality control inspections, identify defects, and ensure products meet engineering and customer specifications.
- Perform system integration tasks and conduct functional and performance tests.Record and document test results clearly and accurately; input data into tracking systems as required.
- Calibrate and maintain basic test equipment to ensure reliable and accurate measurements.
- Manage individual tasks efficiently, meet project deadlines, and track progress and deliverables.
- Adhere strictly to safety regulations and protocols, including handling of hazardous materials and PPE usage.
- Apply knowledge of both electrical and mechanical systems in assembly, testing, and troubleshooting tasks.
- Contribute to process improvements by identifying inefficiencies and suggesting practical solutions based on experience.
- Collaborate with engineers, quality, and other departments to support cross-functional project execution.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians, sharing knowledge and best practices.
- Coordinate daily assembly and testing activities and ensure that processes align with customer requirements and quality objectives.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing, testing, or engineering support environment.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools, assembly methods, and technical systems.
- Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) to read and interpret designs.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills; ability to work both independently and in a team setting.
- Experience working within quality-controlled environments and understanding of QMS practices.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in a regulated or customer-driven industry (e.g., aerospace, medical devices, defense).
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
- Prior experience supporting customer audits or compliance reviews.
