Job Description
AECOM is seeking an Entry Level Structural Engineer to be based in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in the structural analysis and preparation of design calculations.
- Develop or assist in developing structural details and construction plans.
- Prepare geometric/bridge layouts, construction specifications, and material quantity calculations.
- Successfully interface with staff from a range of other disciplines (highway, traffic, civil, planning, etc.) to support a diverse range of projects.
- Create new and better ways to solve clients’ toughest challenges through a strong commitment to innovation.
- Always strive to give clients the best solutions and remain client focused.
- Maintain a high level of integrity by always doing the right thing in an ethical, fair, and sustainable way.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering with a focus on Structures (bridges).
- Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree focus on bridges or structures.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence.
- Strong technical and communication skills with a commitment to quality.
- Familiarity with AASHTO and INDOT design and standards.
- Computer skills desired include Finite Element Software, Bridge Design Software, Microsoft Office, and Computer Aided Drafting - preferably MicroStation.
- Progress toward professional licensure.
