Position Overview:
We are seeking a staff-level Environmental Scientist, Geologist, or Hydrogeologist to support environmental projects across the State of Florida. The ideal candidate may have one to two years of experience in the environmental consulting field with exposure to environmental due diligence, site assessments, fieldwork, and report preparation. However, we welcome candidates who are detail-oriented, self-motivated, and eager to develop their skills. The position will require travel, including overnight stays.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Work with or assist senior staff to oversee monitoring well installations, soil screening, soil and groundwater sampling, surveying, and remediation system installations.
· Perform and document environmental sampling (groundwater, soil, sediment, and air).
· Prepare field documentation, including boring logs, well completion logs, calibration logs, and sampling records.
· Compile and analyze environmental data for inclusion in technical reports and figures.
· Prepare permit applications (FDOT ROW, NPDES).
· Support environmental due diligence and Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments.
· Oversee remedial construction and source removal activities.
· Communicate with clients, subcontractors, and agency personnel in both office and field settings.
Required Qualifications:
· B.S. degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or a related field from an accredited university.
· Effective verbal and written communication skills.
· Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Solid organizational and time/project management abilities.
· Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
· Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
· Willingness to travel up to 60% within Florida, including overnight stays.
· Ability to pass pre-employment drug testing.
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required but Ideal):
· Experience with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Adobe Acrobat.
· Familiarity with FDEP regulatory framework and reporting standards.
· Previous experience on FDEP petroleum cleanup or hazardous site projects.
Certifications (Preferred but Not Required):
· 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification.
