Job Description:
Maryland Environmental Service has an opening for an Environmental Systems Assistant Regional Supervisor in the Western Region of Maryland, located at the Deep Creek Lake State Park facility in Swanton, MD, within our Water/Wastewater Group. This position is responsible for the daily operations, monitoring and maintenance of water, wastewater and industrial wastewater treatment systems in a designated sub-region of the State.
Estimated Pay Range:
$80,901.39 - $111,239.22

Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or state high school equivalency certificate and satisfactory completion of four self-study courses and one management course from the California State University, Sacramento (CSUS):
1. The four courses must be acceptable to the Regional Supervisor where the Environmental Systems Assistant Regional Supervisor will be assigned. If all or additional courses are needed to meet this requirement, MES will allow 18 months for the employee to complete the required courses. Failure to meet this requirement may result in termination of employment.
2. “Manage for Success,” or an equivalent CSUS management course that is acceptable to the Maryland Environmental Service’s Training Office must also be completed for this position.
AND 2 years as an Environmental Systems Supervisor with the Maryland Environmental Service.
OR 7 of progressively responsible experience as an operator of water, wastewater or industrial wastewater treatment systems, including at least two years supervising or directing plant personnel.
Must have a valid driver's license with less than 5 points.
