Looking for ER Techs that would be able to work in our Waco location. This position requires the technician to maintain positive relationships with patients, families, physicians, co-workers, as well as other departments within the emergency room and management. Maintaining a positive attitude and relationship in the workplace creates an enthusiastic working environment and allows the company to put patients’ needs first.
Hands-on clinical duties may include triage, to include taking and monitoring patients’ vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, pulse oximetry and temperature.
Clinical procedures to include:
· Insert and remove IV’s
· Collect blood, urine, saliva and stool samples for laboratory analysis
· Perform laboratory diagnostic testing
· Perform 12-lead EKG’s
· Clean and prep wounds for suture/bandaging.
· Fit patients for crutches, slings and other devices as needed
· Provide instruments to doctors and nurses as they perform procedures
· Assist with the safe movement of patients, such as from hospital bed to wheelchair, when necessary.
Additional duties include:
· Prepare patient rooms by sanitizing rooms, beds and chairs after each use
· Stock exam rooms prior to end of shift with linens and supplies
· Discard linens and trash in the appropriate container
· Discard laboratory specimens in appropriate biohazard waste containers
· File and inventory as needed.
Necessary skills for this position include:
· 1+ year experience starting IVs
· 1+ year experience drawing blood
· 1+ year monitoring and interpreting EKGs
· BLS Certification
· Paramedic or nursing coursework a plus.
