Join a dedicated team at a small but vital Critical Access Hospital in scenic Big Timber, Montana. We're seeking an experienced ER/Med-Surg RN for an 8-week contract.

Pay Package:
Without Housing Provided:
- Hourly Rate: $31 taxable + $1,245 weekly stipend
- Weekly Gross: $2,362
- Overtime: $72/hr
With Housing Provided:
- Hourly Rate: $48/hr (taxable)
- Weekly Gross: $2,204
- Overtime: $72/hr
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in both the Emergency Room (ER) and Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg) unit, often in a float or dual-role capacity.
- Triage ER patients upon arrival, assess acuity, and initiate appropriate care protocols.
- Perform comprehensive assessments, monitor vital signs, and update care plans based on patient status.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments in accordance with provider orders and hospital policy.
- Respond to emergencies, including trauma, cardiac events, respiratory distress, and sepsis.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other team members to ensure coordinated and effective care.
- Provide post-op and chronic illness care on the Med-Surg unit, including wound care, pain management, and patient education.
- Monitor telemetry, if available, and recognize changes in patient condition requiring rapid response.
- Perform or assist with procedures such as catheterization, NG tube placement, EKGs, and more.
- Stabilize patients for transfer to higher-level facilities when necessary.
- Document all assessments, care, and patient responses accurately in the EHR system.
- Educate patients and families on discharge instructions, medications, and follow-up care.
- Cross-train in other departments such as outpatient, lab draws, or swing bed as needed.
- Float between units, including covering nights, weekends, or holidays as part of a rotating schedule.
