We are seeking an EXPERIENCED dedicated and enthusiastic server to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced fine dining environment. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for providing exceptional customer service and have a strong understanding of food and beverage offerings. As a Server, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our guests have an enjoyable dining experience from the moment they enter until they leave. Mezzo is looking for a mature server that has experience in the restaurant business - preferably fine dining. Mezzo is a nice upscale neighborhood restaurant that has a very loyal and regular clientele. We are looking for someone to join our outstanding team of servers. The positions that we have open right now are daytime & evening server. We are looking for someone that has bar/cocktail and some wine knowledge. You must be 21++ years of age. We are looking for someone that has STRONG serving experience, that has a STRONG work ethic and is friendly, outgoing, self starter that does not need a lot of direction but will come into work, show up and do what needs to be done without being told (after training). Mezzo is open Tuesday - Saturday. We are looking for a veteran server someone who has EXPERIENCE in a NICE RESTAURANT.
Responsibilities
- Greeting customers in a friendly manner, helping them to make their dining experience the best that it can be while they are at the restaurant.
- Having a high standard of service and willing to go the extra mile
- Taking food and beverage orders and accurately entering them into the our POS system. (training available)
- Able to take reservation (training available on opentable)
- Making menu item recommendations to customers (all of our food is housemade and farm to table)
- Looking for someone with great Communication skills and willing to become part of a team
- Capable of making cocktails, some wine knowledge (can learn)
- Paying attention to customers and getting to know them. Communicating if customers have any food allergies, special orders or special nutrition needs to kitchen staff
- Ensuring all orders are filled quickly and accurately and that food is high quality
- Providing attentive service to diners, like refilling drinks as needed and checking their needs during meals.
- Working and communicating with the busser so that tables are well taken care of
- Promptly addressing any customer service issues and referring to management if and when necessary
- Performing some cleaning duties after or before a shift, such keeping the service station, bar, dining room, bathroom, etc. clean and presentable.
- Restocking and getting the restaurant ready for the next shift
- Being a team player
- Provide detailed menu information, including daily specials and recommendations, while upselling items to enhance guest experience.
- Ensure timely delivery of food and beverages to tables, maintaining high standards of presentation.
- Monitor guest satisfaction throughout their meal, addressing any concerns or requests promptly.
- Process payments accurately through cash handling and basic math skills.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including bussing tables as needed.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe dining environment.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow and communicate any special requests or dietary restrictions.
Skills
- Previous restaurant experience in FINE DINING restaurant as a server role , with fine dining experience being a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with guests.
- Excellent time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tables and tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with OpenTable for reservations management is advantageous.
- Basic culinary knowledge and food preparation skills are beneficial for understanding menu items.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail in service delivery.
- Experience in guest relations and hospitality that enhances overall guest satisfaction.

- Daytime/night time shift and taking on the responsibility of the daytime operations of the FOH at the restaurant. Hours are usually 10:30 a.m - 3:00 p.m+ & 5:00 - 9:30
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.50 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
