About Column
For companies building financial technology and transforming the financial services space, the biggest bottleneck to their growth and innovation is often the underlying banks and infrastructure stack they rely on. We have spent our careers founding and scaling companies like Plaid, Square, Meta, Blend, and Affirm, and have seen this problem firsthand — builders and developers needing to partner with traditional banks, and creating API and abstraction layers over the patchwork that is the bank, its core, and many other vendors. All of this results in a complex (and often expensive) banking supply chain involving a user, fintech, BaaS middleware provider, bank, core and the Federal Reserve.
At Column, we set out to simplify and fix this. We are a bank and a software company built from the ground up, offering builders and developers technology-forward banking solutions that cut out the hundreds of vendors, middleware providers, and abstraction layers. This means a safer, more transparent, and less costly banking supply chain. Come build with us!
The opportunity
In Column's Events & Marketing role, your mandate is to architect and execute our most important brand moments—from investor dinners to employee offsites to external conferences. You’ll partner directly with our CEO, Go-to-Market team, and Workplace Experience team to ensure every experience reflects and amplifies Column's brand. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role that blends creative vision with operational rigor. You’ll thrive here if you love rolling up your sleeves, sweat every detail, and know that how something is experienced often matters as much as what is said.
This role is based in our San Francisco HQ and is expected to be in-person 4 days/week. Regular travel to conferences and events (domestic and international) should be expected.
What you’ll do
Lead strategy and execution for Column’s most important internal and external experiences—including investor events, offsites, board meetings, and customer-facing activities.
Collaborate with our Workplace Experience Manager to deliver employee engagement initiatives that enhance culture and workplace experience.
Own logistics end-to-end: vendor sourcing, venue selection, creative direction, communications, budget management, and run-of-show execution.
Work with go-to-market to develop creative event strategies that extend our brand presence and generate pipeline.
Travel to ensure flawless execution at high-priority events.
Support broader marketing campaigns and brand initiatives as needed.
What you’ll need to be successful
3–5 years of experience in event production, experiential marketing, or brand activation roles—ideally at a high-growth startup or creative agency.
Demonstrated success executing high-profile, detail-rich events under tight timelines.
Outstanding project management skills and ability to multitask in fast-paced environments.
A strong aesthetic sensibility and eye for brand cohesion.
Scrappy, resourceful, and humble—you’re just as comfortable building a strategy deck as you are taping down cables.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfort interfacing with executives and VIPs.
Willingness to travel and adapt on the fly.
