The Jewish Community Relations Council is the voice of the organized Jewish community in Greater Boston. We are comprised of 40 member organizations and advocate on behalf of their priorities and values in the broader civic space.
Position Overview
The Executive and Development Operations Manager plays a central role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Executive Office and the effectiveness of JCRC’s governance structure. This position provides high-level administrative and logistical support to the CEO and strategic support to the Board of Directors and Council. Additionally, the role supports the Chief Development Officer (CDO) in development-related operations, including grants, donor outreach, and database management and reporting. The Manager serves as a critical connector across departments and with external stakeholders.
This position reports to the Chief Development Officer and works closely with the CEO and senior leadership.
Some responsibilities may require work outside of standard business hours, including occasional evenings or weekends. The role will require flexibility especially when the CEO is traveling to ensure timely coordination and support across time zones and schedules.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Office Support
- Manage the CEO’s complex calendar, including scheduling internal and external meetings, prioritizing requests, and resolving scheduling conflicts.
- Arrange CEO travel, including booking transportation, accommodations, and preparing detailed itineraries.
- Assist in the preparation of materials and briefing documents for CEO meetings and speaking engagements.
- Format, and proofread correspondence, presentations, and reports for the CEO
- Serve as a key liaison between the CEO and staff, partners, and community stakeholders.
- Handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Board and Council Relations
- Coordinate all logistics for meetings of the Board of Directors, Council, and Executive Committee, including food, scheduling, minute-taking, and materials distribution.
- Manage Board and Council records, including rosters, bylaws, policies, and governance documentation.
- Support onboarding and engagement of new Board and Council members.
- Facilitate communication between lay leaders and JCRC staff; track follow-up items and action steps related to governance.
Development and Outreach Support
- Assist the Chief Development Officer in the preparation and submission of grant applications and reports.
- Support coordination and execution of donor mailings, acknowledgments, and other external communications.
- Help plan and implement development-related outreach campaigns, events, and donor engagement efforts.
- Maintain organized records and support data tracking related to development activities.
Organizational and Office Operations
- Support planning and logistics for internal meetings, retreats, and organization-wide events.
- Assist in tracking deadlines, calendars, and shared priorities across departments.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant experience in executive support, governance, or nonprofit administration.
- Proven ability to manage a complex executive calendar and make travel arrangements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
- Discretion and sound judgment in handling confidential information.
· Proficiency in email communication, calendar management and standard office software, including word processing and spreadsheets
· Experience using Canva and similar design tools
· Experience using Salesforce and asana a plus
- Commitment to JCRC’s mission and values; knowledge of the Jewish communal landscape is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $95,000-$105,000, commensurate with experience.
