Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Expeditor to join our team in a fast-paced food service environment. The Expeditor plays a crucial role in ensuring that orders are prepared accurately and delivered promptly to our customers. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with kitchen staff, servers, and management to maintain high standards of food safety and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the flow of food orders from the kitchen to the dining area, ensuring timely delivery.
- Communicate effectively with cooks and servers to clarify orders and address any discrepancies.
- Monitor food presentation and quality before it leaves the kitchen, adhering to food safety standards.
- Assist in food preparation as needed, including basic cooking tasks and assembling dishes.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and expediting area.
- Support bussing staff by helping clear tables and reset for new guests when necessary.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth operation during peak service times.
Experience
- Previous experience in a food service or restaurant environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with kitchen operations, including cooking techniques and food preparation methods.
- Strong understanding of food safety practices and regulations.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively under pressure.
- Experience working in banquet settings is a plus, as well as knowledge of various cuisines.
