Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dental team in delivering high-quality services. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during various procedures, including examinations, fillings, and extractions.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary materials are available.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as required.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records using dental software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Manage appointment scheduling and coordinate patient flow within the clinic.
- Support pediatric dentistry efforts by creating a welcoming environment for young patients.
- Utilize knowledge of dental terminology to communicate effectively with both patients and team members.
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed, including answering phones and managing patient inquiries.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
- Proficiency in general dentistry practices with knowledge of prosthodontics being a plus.
- Familiarity with medical documentation processes relevant to dental care.
- Experience in pediatric dentistry is preferred but not required.
- Previous experience as a dental receptionist or in dental assisting is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for maintaining accurate patient records and managing appointments.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while providing excellent patient care.
