The position requires strong technical skills and the ability to easily and quickly learn new software. Strong written and verbal skills are needed, as is the ability to prioritize multiple client needs.
We are seeking EXPERIENCED Tax Reviewer for the following position:
Responsibilities:
- Experience preparing complex Forms 1040 (reconciling K-1 basis, etc.) including international income reporting.
- Experience preparing complex small business returns (Forms 1065, 1120S, 1120, etc.)
- Experience with International reporting forms like 8938, 5471, 5472, FBAR
- Be able to review business and personal tax returns for small business clients from initial meeting through delivery and filing of returns
- Review quarterly financial statements prepared in QB for accuracy, correct as required.
- Support onboarding of new clients to ensure adequate support to the primary bookkeeper.
- Onboard new employees and ensure their successful transition to the company.
- Manage staff accountants
- Communicate with clients
- Organize and update the tax database
- Record tax entries into accounting software
- Understand and apply tax reduction strategies
- Support other areas of the company such as Sales, HR, and Admin as needed to continue to develop infrastructures of the company.
Requirements:
- 6 years of Tax Preparation Experience is a Must
- Proven work experience as an Experienced Staff Tax Accountant/Tax Associate
- Advance knowledge of the tax code for individuals and small business
- Drake Tax software experience is a Recommended.
- Advance knowledge in reviewing financial statements.
- QuickBooks accounting software experience
- Computer literacy, numerical skills and attention to detail
- Commitment to refining processes and using technology (hardware, software, etc.) to streamline, automate, and gain efficiencies within the firm and for the client.
- Able to adapt to changes quickly
- Open to growing rapidly
Accounting Skills, PUBLIC ACCOUNTING, and TAX PREPARATION experience is a MUST. Must have excellent people skills, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task.
