PURPOSE:
Ensures facilities across 40 acre campus are kept clean and welcoming for visitors and staff. Provides set-up, flip, and tear-down for all institutional activities. Monitors for safety and maintenance hazards and deals with them in a timely manner.

Primarily works during evenings and weekends, however must be able to work a flexible schedule as needed (e.g., may be temporarily assigned to daytime hours or weekends). Must be able to work with a seven-day work schedule with various hours.
Physical requirements including working outside in different types of weather conditions, as well as standing, stooping, bending, climbing stairs, pushing, pulling, carrying, reaching, crawling, and crouching at any given time. Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more. Possibility of some exposure to hazards and moderate-to-high noise levels. Must be able to move about 40-acre main campus. Work hours require flexibility with some evenings and weekends required. A valid driver’s license is required.

- Have a high school diploma or equivalent; custodial experience preferred.
- Show strong interpersonal communication skills, attention to detail and a very good sense of urgency and priority.
- Demonstrate ability to work alone or in a group setting with others, regardless of age or background.
- Be self-motivated and able to follow directions accurately.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure buildings are cleaned to a high standard, including trash removal, bathroom cleaning, light and medium-duty cleaning regularly, and deep cleaning frequently.
- Complete timely and accurate set-ups, flips, and tear-downs; communicate with facilities manager, night supervisor, other facilities assistants and other staff.
- Set up and troubleshoot A/V equipment in consultation with the Technical Manager.
- Assist staff from all departments in the moving of oversized items.
- Secure and code buildings upon closure.
- Perform all other duties required.
