The Campus Safety & Facilities Supervisor is a highly visible and dependable presence responsible for supporting a safe and welcoming environment across the campus. This mobile role involves regular patrols, access awareness, and consistent interaction with staff, tenants, and guests. The ideal candidate is personable, observant, and committed to providing peace of mind through professional engagement and proactive monitoring.
Job Description
- Conduct routine foot patrols of indoor and outdoor areas, including walkways, lobbies, parking lots, and shared spaces
- Observe public and tenant activity to ensure shared spaces are used appropriately
- Provide a calm and friendly presence to deter disruptive or unsafe behavior
- Build rapport with staff, tenants, and guests through daily positive interactions
- Assist visitors with wayfinding and basic questions about the facility
- Respond to minor incidents, disturbances, or facility issues by notifying the appropriate internal contacts
- Maintain daily activity logs and incident reports
- Ensure doors, gates, and access points are secured at designated times
- Monitor for safety hazards such as spills, obstructions, or lighting outages and report to Facilities Manager
- Support evacuation efforts or emergency procedures when needed
- Stay aware of event schedules and adjust patrol focus accordingly
- Serve as a communication bridge between tenants and Facilities when appropriate
- Ensure adherence to general site guidelines, such as quiet zones or restricted access areas
- Maintain a clean, professional appearance while on duty
- Arrive on time and prepared for every scheduled shift
Qualifications
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a dependable daily presence
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; naturally friendly and professional
- Previous experience in campus safety, patrol, security monitoring, or a customer-facing role preferred
- Comfortable walking and standing for extended periods; able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Calm and composed under pressure; good judgment and discretion required
- Must pass background screening and complete any required site-specific training
Pay Rate: $25.00 - $27.00 hour. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
