Overview
The Family/Child Education Advocacy Program is seeking a compassionate, knowledgeable, and dedicated Family/Child Education Advocate to support families navigating the special education system. This role plays a vital part in upholding a child’s right to a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) by empowering families and bridging communication between school and home.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide one-on-one support to families addressing special education concerns.
· Assist parents and guardians in understanding and navigating the special education process.
· Attend school meetings, IEP meetings, and mediation sessions to advocate for the students’ needs.
· Act as a liaison between the family and educational institutions to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Qualifications:
· Experience working with families in educational or advocacy settings (preferred).
· Knowledge of special education laws, processes, and best practices.
· Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and advocate effectively.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 per hour
