Experienced Divorce & Custody Litigator - Sign-On Bonus Available
Are you a litigator who thrives in the courtroom, but also values the opportunity to settle cases when it's in your client's best interest? Do you have experience handling complex divorce and custody matters and want to make a meaningful impact for clients who need a fierce advocate on their side?
O’Connor Family Law is seeking an experienced family law attorney who excels in high-conflict litigation and is ready to hit the ground running. We specialize in complex divorce and custody disputes across Massachusetts and are known for providing exceptional legal representation to clients facing some of the most difficult times in their lives.
About the Role:
This position offers flexibility in work location. Our offices are in Westborough and Hanover, but most of our legal team works remotely. As long as you can reliably appear in court across Massachusetts and come into the office when needed, your location is less important than your dedication.
We work in a fast-paced, supportive, and collaborative environment—but we don’t micromanage. Our attorneys are trusted to manage their cases independently while benefiting from mentorship and a positive team culture.
What We’re Looking For:
- You are licensed to practice law in Massachusetts with no disciplinary history.
- You have a strong track record in family law litigation (divorce and custody).
- You are confident handling high-conflict cases and dealing with difficult opposing parties (and sometimes difficult opposing counsel).
- You’re organized, self-directed, and capable of managing 35–45 active cases as lead counsel.
- You communicate clearly and compassionately, and know how to explain complex legal matters in plain English.
- You think quickly on your feet and remain calm under pressure.
- You love arguing in the Courtroom and going to trial.
- You're great at negotiating and getting hard cases to settle without compromising the client's non-negotiables
- You practice with integrity and hold yourself to a high ethical standard.
- You have reliable transportation to attend court hearings and can arrive at least 15–30 minutes before a scheduled hearing
- You are available Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., but understand family law needs are not always neatly kept within business hours
- You are proficient at utilizing technology and learn new programs quickly
- You're someone who people tend to trust easily because you're excellent at active listening
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base salary starting at $100,000, plus bonuses and performance incentives
- 401(k) with match
- QSEHRA health reimbursement plan
- Student loan repayment benefit
- Paid holidays and time off (unlimited PTO after 2 years)
- Annual licensing fees, CLE, notary certification, and advanced training covered or reimbursed
- Company Training, Social Engagements, and Community Service Opportunities
