Join our team of enthusiastic farmers in a fun and uplifting environment growing vegetables, flowers, and regenerating our soil.
Hard work is expected moving mulch, compost, carrying harvested vegetables, washing, packing, and loading and unloading for weekly farmers markets.
Our urban farm uses no-till practices, Biodynamic methods, Korean Natural Farming practices, deep compost mulch systems, compost teas, and organic fertilizers. Many days we will be planting, weeding, mulching, feeding, harvesting, trellising, and tending the gardens. We have two hoops houses and a half acre field in production and grow for a weekly CSA membership program.
Qualifications:
- Experience farming is preferred but not necessary
- able to lift 45 lbs and walk short distances
- clear communication around scheduling and commitment
- able to follow directions and think creatively to navigate challenges that arise on the farm.
- being flexible with inclement weather events
Compensation:
- Part time position pays $14-$18/hr with potential raises each month
- Hours: 10- 30 per week, Monday - Sunday. Days and hours can be flexible. 9 hours/day maximum
Summary
In the role of Farm Help, you will be essential in supporting agricultural operations and ensuring the effective management of farm activities . You will assist in various tasks, including growing crops, weeding, mulching, harvesting, selling at the farmers market and handling tools. This position requires a strong work ethic, lots of energy and the ability to perform tedious tasks, making you a vital part of our farming team dedicated to producing high quality food.
