The Fence Foreman oversees and leads fence installation crews, ensuring that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. 1. Project Leadership & Supervision
- Lead, supervise, and coordinate a crew of fence installers.
- Read and interpret blueprints, plans, or drawings to determine the scope of work.
- Assign tasks to crew members based on skill and project needs.
- Monitor work to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to timelines.
2. Installation Oversight
- Oversee installation of all types of fencing (e.g., chain link, wood, vinyl, ornamental fencing, etc.).
- Ensure proper measurement, alignment, post setting, and finishing.
- Operate and maintain tools and equipment such as augers, post drivers, skid steers, and other machinery.
3. Safety & Compliance
- Enforce safety policies and procedures on-site.
- Conduct pre-job safety meetings and job site hazard assessments.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
4. Communication & Reporting
- Serve as the primary point of contact between field crew and management.
- Report progress, delays, or issues to supervisors or project managers.
- Complete daily job logs, time sheets, and material usage reports.
5. Equipment & Material Management
- Coordinate delivery and staging of materials and tools.
- Ensure proper storage and maintenance of equipment.
- Order additional materials or tools as needed.
6. Quality Control
- Inspect finished fence sections for quality, durability, and compliance with specifications.
- Address and correct any deficiencies or issues during and after installation.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of fence installation experience, with 1+ years in a leadership role.
- Knowledge of fencing materials, installation techniques, and tools.
- Ability to read site plans, drawings, and technical documents.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
