Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Field Applications Specialist with a strong educational background and hands-on experience in electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems. This role requires approximately 40% - 60% travel to customer sites to provide technical support and implement control solutions. When not traveling, you will assist the Assembly and Service Manager with hands-on assembly, troubleshooting, and system maintenance tasks. Role Should also work closely with our Controls/Programming Specialist.
Key Responsibilities:
- Travel to customer sites (~40% - 60%) to install, commission, and troubleshoot PLC and control systems.
- Assemble, disassemble, and troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical components and systems.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and pneumatic layouts.
- Provide technical engineering support and troubleshooting assistance to customers remotely via phone and other communication tools.
- Collaborate closely with the Controls/Programing and Service Manager with also supporting in-house assembly and service activities during non-travel periods.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with customers and internal teams to ensure successful project completion.
- Demonstrate strong self-motivation and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Help maintain spare parts orders requests.
Qualifications:
- Preferred Experience and/or certified training in Automation Technology, Automated Machinery Systems and or one year relevant experience or 2+ years experience within the desired packaging industry.
- Preferred experience with PLC and System troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
- Candidates must have strong math aptitude and good computer skills (Office 365)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 40% - 60% of the time Domestically and Internationally.
- Must be able to obtain Passport for International Travel
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
General office/shop machine tool noise. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Normal working position is sitting, standing, and walking throughout the office and the plant. Reaching with hands and arms. Ability to work in refrigerated and food production facilities.
Compensation:
Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour based on experience
