DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Field Leadership
- Oversee daily operations of 4-5 assigned crews across multiple job sites
- Work directly in field with crews ensuring quality and safety standards
- Step in as acting Crew Leader when regular leaders unavailable
- Monitor crew performance and provide real-time guidance
- Ensure all work meets ANSI standards and company specifications
- Work with company trainer to identify skill deficiencies and develop improvement plans
- Train and mentor Crew Leaders in technical skills, safety, and leadership
- Conduct hands-on training in pruning, rigging, and equipment operation
- Lead specialized training crews with reduced production focus
- Provide ongoing coaching to improve team performance
- Enforce ANSI/OSHA regulations and company safety policies
- Conduct and enforce field safety inspections and proper job safety protocols
- Ensure proper PPE usage and equipment safety compliance
- Drive crew productivity to meet daily/weekly production targets
- Monitor job site efficiency and implement improvements
- Ensure tree care services meet client expectations and industry standards
- Conduct quality inspections and address deficiencies immediately
- Handle customer concerns and ensure professional job site appearance
Required
- 5+ years tree care experience with strong climbing and technical skills
- 2+ years crew leadership/supervisory experience in tree services
- Extensive knowledge of pruning, removal, rigging, and safety techniques
- Valid driver's license with clean record
- Proven ability to train and develop crew members effectively
- Experience with all tree care aspects: climbing, bucket truck, ground work
- Problem-solving skills for field challenges and crew management
- Ability to maintain safety standards under production pressure
- Excellent interpersonal skills for coaching and performance management
- Ability to perform all tree care duties including climbing when necessary
- Work in various weather conditions with strength to lift 30-40+ pounds
- Stamina for full days of physical outdoor work across multiple job sites
- ISA Certified Arborist certification
- Crane operation experience
- Multiple crew management experience
