The Utility Locator / Field Survey Technician is responsible for accurately identifying and marking underground utilities using specialized detection equipment, ensuring the safety and success of excavation and construction operations. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to interpret utility drawings and plans, and comfort working outdoors in all conditions. In addition to locating duties, the ideal candidate will be open to cross-training in basic surveying tasks such as construction stakeout and topographic data collection, supporting MR EXCAVATOR’s field operations with versatile, hands-on contributions.
- Locate and mark underground utilities using ground penetrating radar.
- Interpret utility prints, plans, and as-built drawings to ensure accurate field markings.
- Document and communicate field conditions clearly, including basic sketches and notes.
- Operate company vehicles and equipment with professionalism and attention to safety.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, walking and standing for extended periods.
- Learn and assist with basic surveying tasks, including stake out and topographic surveys.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.81 - $29.88 per hour
