The OBT Project Financial Analyst plays a vital role in stewarding resources faithfully and equipping global partners with effective financial accountability tools. This role is responsible for analyzing, managing, monitoring, and reporting on the financial aspects of Oral Bible Translation projects.
You will work closely with project coordinators, administrators, and our accounting department to ensure accurate financial reporting, budget oversight, donor confidence, and streamlined systems that help maximize impact worldwide.
Responsibilities include:
OBT Project Financial Analyst:
- Responsible for all OBT financial reporting to donors, partners etc.
- Work with Project Coordinators and OBT Administrator to prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring alignment with approved scopes.
- Review and reconcile partner financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with agreements.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improved stewardship.
- Compile quarterly and annual donor-ready financial reports in collaboration with the OBT Administrator.
- Track income, expenses, and scheduled payments for OBT projects; adjust plans as needed.
- Coordinate with the FCBH Accounting Department to ensure timely and accurate processing of all OBT financial transactions.
- Maintain organized and accessible financial records for all projects.
- Assist with preparing budgets and financial documentation for new projects and renewals.
- Provide accurate and current financial data for high-level presentations, donor meetings, and strategic planning.
- Support the development of streamlined financial reporting processes for OBT projects and partners.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Documentation and Communication:
- Maintain various systems with accurate OBT financial data in cooperation with other internal departments.
- Assist in developing and maintaining an organized file management system for financial records.
- Attend partner meetings as required, providing financial analysis and updates when needed.
- Participate in relevant professional development opportunities.
- Assist in setting up and supporting OBT departmental meetings.
- Provide hospitality arrangements for departmental meetings and visiting guests according to FCBH standards.
Required:
- Missions-minded with a heart for reaching all people with the Word of God.
- Minimum two years of accounting, bookkeeping, or financial reporting experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office, with advanced Excel skills; ability to learn new accounting and project management software.
- Ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable reports for non-financial audiences.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- High emotional intelligence, good judgment, and teachable spirit.
- Openness to innovations and improvements, including relevant AI tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a collaborative team mindset.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field; or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Experience with financial management in a cross-cultural or non-profit setting.
- Familiarity with backend Bible translation or orality-related accounting processes.
- Experience in donor reporting requirements.
- Ability to present financial insights to leadership and partners in cross-cultural contexts.
