How will you make an impact in this role?

This role will sit in Global Commercial Credit (GCC) Underwriting. GCC is comprised of Commercial Underwriting, Consumer Underwriting, Corporate Credit and Merchant Risk Operations functions operating across 14 locations with 850 colleagues around the globe. Our credit and underwriting operations strategies play a meaningful role in running credit risk and helping the company grow by bringing the right customers into our franchise quickly, enabling spend, and assisting clients in financial stress.

 The Underwriting Quality Review Analyst will be responsible for conducting quality reviews of underwriting cases decisioned and underwriting communication servicing in Phoenix and Gurgaon.  This role will seek to improve underwriting servicing processes, ensure compliance with operational risk guidelines, and identify opportunities for improving decision quality.  A critical aspect of this role will be reporting aggregate quality review trends to management and senior leadership.

 Job Responsibilities:

·       Conduct Underwriter Decision quality review of Consumer cases

·       Conduct Underwriting Consultant Servicing quality review for Commercial and Consumer workflows

·       Ensure compliance with operational risk guidelines in accordance with the Operating Manual, PRSA/Compliance controls, and CHC procedures

·       Evaluate and identify gaps in the underwriting servicing processes and recommend process improvements and/or reengineering

·       Execute project work aligned with key strategic initiatives and priorities

·       Review and enhance policies and procedures for accuracy and clarity in execution

·       Participate in brainstorming sessions and calibration call sessions to identify compliance, policy, procedural, case actioning and system gaps

·       Develop solutions with peers, leaders and assigned business partners to close identified gaps

·       Create and conduct upskilling and training to close any gaps in adherence to procedural and compliance regulatory requirements

·       Regularly review processes and procedures for effective controls

·       Identify opportunities for enhancements and challenge the status quo

 Minimum Qualifications:

·       Attention to detail and ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment to meet constricted timelines.

·       Ability to organize and manage deadlines, adapting your time to changing priorities to meet the needs of the department.

·       Strong relationship building skills, highly engaged and ability to work as part of a team ensuring team goals are achieved. 

·       Strong commercial and consumer underwriting skills required 

·       Ability to effectively communicate via written/verbal means to peers, managers, and senior leadership

·       Attention to detail and ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment to meet constricted timelines.

·       Strong analytical skills and an aptitude for utilizing in-depth investigative methods and techniques to identify root causes

·       Ability to evaluate the function and effectiveness of various underwriting processes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated investigative skills, prior experience in internal fraud investigations, or knowledge of internal fraud policies and detection techniques or best practices are beneficial.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Risk Mgmt., or related field; or certifications are advantageous
  • 1-2 Years experience in operational risk management (e.g., within Risk and/or Internal Audit function) Understanding of critical operational risk management lifecycle activities
  • Experience in at least one of the following:
    • Providing identification of operational risks throughout business processes and system
    • Facilitating risk assessment performance in addition to further assessments and testing programs to ensure regulatory and internal standards are met
    • Enhancing risk assessments and associated methodologies
    • Reviewing independent control monitoring, including identification of control improvement
    • Identifying areas of risk for intervention, including conducting independent quality assurance and process testing
    • Reviewing risk reporting to provide actionable insights on risk levels, emerging trends and root cause
    • Experience in financial services industry

Minimum Qualifications

 

Salary Range: $24.05 to $48.10 hourly + bonus + benefits
