This position will be in our Research and Development Operation in Whitehall, MI. We are seeking a Financial Analyst with high energy and drive. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Key Responsibilities:
- Analysis of financial and operational results within both project accounting and manufacturing accounting systems
- Support administration of project accounting system
- Month-end closing and reporting, including, invoicing, labor reporting, account reconciliations and coordination of closing entries with other internal locations
- Inventory management and analysis, including updating standard costing
- Capital appropriation and Fixed Asset support
- Data extraction and report development
- Financial analysis and process development for special projects, as required
- Provide annual and quarterly data for corporate tax reporting
- Ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed
- Completion of Howmet’s Sarbanes-Oxley requirements for internal controls
Basic Qualifications:
- B.S. Degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance from an accredited institution.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior financial experience with manufacturing companies is preferred
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint project management software
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both written and oral form
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Self-starter
- Experience with querying databases
- Excellent analytical skills
- Experience with cost accounting
