Summary
We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Finish Touch-Up Technician to perform on-site touch-ups, repairs, and finish adjustments. This role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of various finishing techniques, and the ability to problem-solve in real-time, ensuring our installations meet the highest standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed touch-up and repair work on installed products (wood, veneer, etc.) in the field.
- Color match stains, paints, and finishes as needed.
- Repair scratches, dents, chips, cracks, and other surface imperfections.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and other team members regarding repairs and timelines.
- Maintain tools, materials, and workspace in an organized, safe manner.
- Travel to various job sites as required (local and occasional out-of-town).
- Ensure completed work meets or exceeds quality standards and customer satisfaction.
- Some time will be spent in the field and some will be spent in the Paint Shop
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in finish touch-up, woodworking, millwork, or related field.
- Experience with high-end cabinetry, custom millwork, or furniture finishing.
- Knowledge of different substrates (solid wood, veneer, laminate, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of finishing products, techniques, and materials (post-catalyzed conversion varnish, stains, paints, fillers, etc.).
- Skilled in hand touch-ups, spray touch-ups, color matching, and repairs.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a variety of job site conditions.
