Position Summary:
We are seeking a Fire Sprinkler Fitter Foreman to oversee the installation and servicing of fire sprinkler systems in commercial construction environments. This role requires leadership, technical expertise, and hands-on fieldwork in varying conditions including exposure to the elements, working at heights, and physical labor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a crew of fitters and helpers to ensure timely and quality installation of fire sprinkler systems, including wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, and fire pumps.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, and specifications to guide installations accurately.
- Coordinate with the project manager to meet project timelines, schedules, and productivity goals.
- Ensure all work meets NFPA standards and local codes.
- Maintain high standards of customer service and represent the company in a professional manner.
- Maintain accurate truck inventory and job-related materials.
- Enforce and follow all company safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Operate and maintain tools and equipment including power machines, threaders, lifts, and ladders.
- Participate in on-call rotation and be available for flexible hours, including weekends when needed.
- Perform physical labor, including lifting equipment up to 70 lbs and working in tight or elevated spaces (e.g., ladders, scaffolding, crawl spaces, ceilings).
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the fire sprinkler industry with expertise in various systems, preferred.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proven leadership skills and ability to direct field personnel effectively.
- Ability to interpret construction documents and technical manuals.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record that meets company standards.
- Reliable transportation to job sites.
- Ability to work at heights of up to 60 feet and in confined or challenging spaces.
- Familiarity with basic electrical work is a plus.
