Custom Fireplaces & More is a leading superstore with an 8400 sq ft showroom in Cookeville, TN, specializing in fireplaces, stoves, and inserts for various fuel types. With 44 years of experience and a commitment to growth, we are hiring installer trainees to better serve our customers.
Summary
We are seeking an entry level fireplace installer-trainee to join our team at Custom Fireplaces & More, in business since 1981. Must have verifiable construction background, with ability to climb steep roofs and strength to lift heavy items. (If you are an experienced skilled fireplace installer, we certainly want to talk with you!) Must be able to work competently with typical hand tools used in home construction. A background in either basic carpentry & framing, electric, HVAC, plumbing, etc is required, as well as a good driver's license. We will train. The ideal applicant will be self- motivated to learn and advance as quickly as possible, must take pride in doing quality work, care about pleasing our customers and have a good work ethic. Lots of advancement possible for the right person to become a lead installer, which is a unique long-range career position. Responsibilities
- Install fireplaces, stoves, and inserts according to manufacturer specifications and local building codes.
- Conduct site assessments to determine installation requirements and ensure safety standards are met.
- Utilize hand tools and heavy equipment safely during installation processes.
- Read and interpret schematics to execute precise installations.
- Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and provide expert recommendations.
- Perform necessary adjustments and repairs post-installation to ensure optimal functionality.
Requirements
- Proven experience in related construction fields, actual fireplace experience a plus.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and construction inspection processes.
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately.
- Familiarity with carpentry techniques and use of hand tools.
- Excellent communication skills for customer interaction and teamwork.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
