Lallie Kemp Regional Medical Center is seeking a Food Service Specialist to join our team. We are a 24-bed acute care critical access hospital serving the Florida Parishes region of Southeast Louisiana. We offer a wide range of services including general surgery and a 24-hour emergency department. Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Serve as an advance level cook that performs a full range of cooking duties within a food service operation.
Plan and direct the preparation of foods for immediate consumption and preservation of food for future use.
Prepare multiple meals including patient special food for therapeutic diets, special formula diets per Registered Dietitian, and all other patient foods.
Serve as baker to include, but not limited to: mixing, kneading, and preparation of bread, rolls, biscuits, cakes, and pastries.
Estimates food needs and requisitions, receives, and distributes food supplies to subordinate cooks.
Performs work involving the use of high heat, open flames, and steam, and is exposed to harsh chemicals, gases, and cleaners.
Reports to supervisors any unsafe working conditions and defective equipment.
Position-Specific Details:
The Food Service Specialist 1-3 vacancy is a full-time position located within the Nutritional Services department.
Appointment Type: Probational
Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Food Service Specialist 1, 2, or 3 depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s). Work Schedule: Work hours vary and will be set by Manager.
