Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Food Service Worker to join our team at our childcare center. This role is vital in providing exceptional service and ensuring that our children have nutritious snacks and lunches warmed up. The ideal candidate will be friendly and courteous, flexible, able to work independently, and self motivated. Hours would be 8:15am-12:15pm, or 8:30 to 12:30 Monday-Friday. NO WEEKENDS, NO EVENINGS!
Responsibilities
- Prepare and pass out snack items according to established health and safety standards. This includes prepping foods carefully to reduce the risk of choking by our younger children.
- Heat lunches provided by parents in a timely fashion according to each classroom's schedule.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen equipment, including washing dishes and equipment used for preparing snacks.
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting positively with administrators and teachers and addressing their needs.
- Follow all food safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures to ensure the health and safety of our students.
- Put away food and janitorial items when delivered. Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds.
- Help with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages as needed. Be sure any food that has expired is thrown away.
- Helping with other tasks such as laundry and possibly some office filing.
- Help out with other tasks when asked by administrators.
Experience
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and safe food handling practices is a plus but not required. We can train you.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A positive attitude, flexibility and willingness to help team members as needed.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
