Our farm-to-table eatery operates on our farm seasonally for dinner and lunch service through our farm store. We need a dedicated individual to join our team. The right candidate will play a crucial role in preparing high-quality meals, maintaining food safety standards, and delivering a fresh, seasonal menu in a fast-paced setting.
The menu includes smashburgers, smoked pork and chicken, fried chicken, rice bowls, and salads all meant to showcase our meats.
We are interviewing for dinner Tuesdays and lunch/dinner service Friday - Sunday. These hours will increase as the season gets busier.
Our ideal candidate will work with our Executive Chef to develop seasonal food truck menus and weekly specials.
You will be responsible to:
1. Operate the food truck kitchen at least 4-5 lunches and dinners per week from May to Columbus Day. This will flex during the busiest part of the season.
2. Train and manage the assistant chef in all operations of the kitchen to ensure redundancy.
3. Coordinate with Farm manager to ensure sufficient inventory of meat products for the season (no meat products from other sources may be used).
4. Ensure availability of all menu items by submitting orders for all non-farm ingredients and supplies to our assistant.
5. Coordinate updates and changes to the digital menu board and online ordering with our assistant.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in food trucks, restaurants, or commercial kitchens preferred
- Knowledge of food safety standards and ability to manage food service in a compact kitchen environment
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment while maintaining consistency and quality
