Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts and other heavy equipment to facilitate the movement of materials and products throughout the facility. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and a commitment to maintaining a productive workflow.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks to load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Perform order picking using RF scanners to ensure accurate fulfillment of customer orders.
- Assist in shipping and receiving operations, ensuring that all incoming and outgoing shipments are processed efficiently.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure safety compliance with OSHA standards.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to maintain organization within the warehouse management system.
- Engage in heavy lifting and materials handling as required by operational demands.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Support other warehouse functions as needed, including inventory management and stock replenishment.
Experience
- Previous experience in warehouse distribution or similar environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation, including cranes and forklifts, is essential.
- Experience with order picking, shipping & receiving processes, and materials handling is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems related to warehouse operations is a plus.
- Previous experience as a warehouse supervisor or in a leadership role is advantageous but not mandatory.
