The Forklift operator will operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload material and deliveries, move them to and from storage areas and machines. The Forklift operator will follow a production schedule to transport material to and from designated areas in the facility.
Essential Functions and Duties:
- Responsible for delivering material to each work center as needed for production.
- Responsible for staging all material requested for the following day.
- Responsible for preventive maintenance action items performed daily per company standards.
- Responsible for emptying trash and grinder bins within the Panel Processing area.
- Responsible for leading by example in attendance, PPE requirements, breaks, and to drive compliance in all areas.
- Responsible for completion of daily scheduled work within the scheduled hours.
- Responsible for following all work center processes.
- Additional duties as assigned by Supervisor
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must be physically able to perform daily tasks, including lifting large particleboard sheets or parts weighing more than 50 lbs. or more.
- Must be able to perform written data entry tasks.
- Must be able to safely drive a forklift.
- Must be able to distinguish between different laminate paper colors.
- Must be able to perform basic math skills and can read a measuring tape and caliper in metric dimensions.
- Must have a strong sense of urgency in accomplishing hourly goals and daily duties.
- Must have the ability to read and write in English.
- Must have prior experience driving forklifts.
Education and Experience:
- Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Will take work experience in lieu of education.
Physical Requirements and/or Working Conditions:
- Factory environment, including heavy lifting, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling and work in areas where eye protection, hearing protection, and possibly where respirators are required.
