Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating various types of forklifts, including clamp trucks and cherry pickers, within a fast-paced distribution center environment. This role is essential for ensuring the efficient movement of goods, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting shipping and receiving operations.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to load and unload materials from trucks and storage areas.
- Utilize warehouse management systems to track inventory levels and ensure accurate stock counts.
- Move products throughout the warehouse, ensuring proper placement in designated areas.
- Assist in shipping and receiving tasks, including verifying shipments against packing lists.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and address any operational challenges.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on forklifts to ensure safe operation.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while operating equipment in the warehouse.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Forklift Operator in a warehouse or distribution center setting is preferred.
- Proficient in operating various types of forklifts, including clamp trucks, cherry pickers, and pallet jacks.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues as they arise.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems for tracking inventory is a plus.
- Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining safety standards.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
