Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Compensation: Hourly rates range from $20.61 to $23.00, dependent on experience
*Must be willing to work at both the Colorado Springs Garden of the Gods and Academy Clinics.
Front Office Responsibilities:
- Greet patients, answer phones, schedule appointments, and handle reminder and no-show calls.
- Manage all workers’ compensation visits.
- Fax and/or email all necessary forms and dictations as required by insurance or employers.
- Attach all scanned documents and faxes to patients’ files.
- Prepare and process charts for new patients and Physical Therapy.
- Handle pre-authorizations, including contacting insurance carriers for JSA/FCE authorizations.
- Obtain reports from referring providers for patient follow-ups.
- Ensure that providers sign off on required paperwork (e.g., M-forms from Nurse Practitioners).
- Ensure all services performed are billed and entered into the system
- Request medical records from other facilities upon provider’s request.
- Run recall reports.
Back Office Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient interviews and accurately document medical histories.
- Perform vital sign assessments, specimen collection, and health evaluations.
- Perform and assist with various clinical procedures, including but not limited to:
- DOT, Basic, and Respirator Examinations
- Pulmonary Function Tests and Electrocardiograms (EKGs)
- Venipuncture, vaccinations, and immunizations
- Wound care, dressing, splinting, and suturing assistance
- Prepare and administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers.
- Sterilize medical instruments and maintain clean, organized treatment areas.
- Accurately input patient data and medical histories into the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
- Coordinate hospital admissions and laboratory services when necessary.
- Triage patients based on urgency and appointment schedules, managing 3-4 patients per hour.
- Deliver patient-centered care from arrival to departure, ensuring a positive experience.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant training program or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Current CPR certification.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Proficiency in patient management software.
- Demonstrated social perceptiveness and a service-oriented attitude.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Must be willing to work at both the Colorado Springs Garden of the Gods and Academy Clinics.
