The Position:
We are currently seeking a non-exempt Building Services Lead responsible for overseeing custodial services for assigned shift, ensuring 24/7 coverage, 365 days a year. This position provides leadership and guidance to custodial staff, ensuring the cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance of airport facilities. The Lead in charge will be assigned to each shift through the Supervisor and Assistant Supervisor and will adjust and vary based on assignments and operational needs. The Lead develops work schedules, inspects completed work, takes corrective actions as needed, and serves as the primary point of contact for their custodial operations during their shift. The Lead will need to be flexible in their work schedules to maintain Lead coverage during the 24/7 airport operations. ***Our current hiring need is for 3rd shift, 10:00pm - 6:30am.
Responsibilities:

- Leads and provides oversight to custodial staff, assigning tasks and ensuring proper execution of duties.
- Develops and adjusts work schedules to maintain coverage and operational efficiency.
- Provides backup and assumes coverage responsibilities if the appointed Lead in charge is not available to ensure continuous custodian operations.
- Conducts inspections of assigned areas, ensuring adherence to cleanliness and safety standards.
- Maintains an inventory of cleaning supplies and submits orders as needed.
- Communicates with vendors regarding supply needs and equipment maintenance.
- Cleans and sanitizes restrooms, ensuring an adequate stock of consumable materials.
- Removes trash and recyclables, ensuring proper disposal.
- Maintains floors, entryways, and stainless-steel surfaces through sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing.
- Assists passengers with general information and directions as needed.
- Operates and maintains cleaning equipment, ensuring proper function and safety.
The Ideal Candidate:
With experience leading others, the ideal candidate should have knowledge of modern office practices and equipment, including applicable software; OSHA standards; airport-specific cleaning protocols; cleaning solutions, cleaning methods and techniques; applicable equipment and tools; principles and practices of employee supervision; including health, safety, and environmental procedures. He or she should have strong organization and time management skills; effective verbal and written communication; have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; attention to detail; follow verbal and written instructions; excellent customer service and problem-solving skills; ability to train and mentor staff; including conflict management. Must be able to work flexible shifts and weekends.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalency preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in custodial work.
- At least 2 years of experience in a senior/lead or supervisory role.
Salary and Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $52,297.77 - $67,987.10 (DOE). MKAA offers a very competitive benefit package for this position, including medical/dental/vision benefits, disability/life insurance, vacation leave, sick leave, and a 401(a)-retirement program.
