General Function
The Fundraising Development Coordinator – Athletics is responsible for supporting and executing fundraising initiatives to enhance the athletic department’s programs, facilities, scholarships, and overall student-athlete experience. This role works closely with the athletics and advancement teams to cultivate donor relationships, coordinate events, and manage donor stewardship efforts.

Description of Primary Duties
The Fundraising Development Coordinator-Athletics plays a vital role role in supporting the fundraising and external relations efforts through University Advancement for the athletic department. This individual will be working closely with the Director of Development for The Bears Fund along with the Senior Director of Athletic Development to help solicit potential donors, alumni, and friends of the university. This individual will assist in the management and stewardship of existing donors, including timely acknowledgments and regular communication. Additionally the Fundraising Development Coordinator-Athletics will assist with all athletic engagement events related to The Bears Fund and beyond throughout the calendar year.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
Education: A bachelor’s degree is required. An equivalent combination of years of experience and education may be considered for substitution of educational requirements.
Experience: At least three years of experience in athletic fundraising or donor relations required. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations preferred. Event planning and volunteer coordination experience required.
Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills are required. Working knowledge of MS Office programs like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams is required. Knowledge of general budgeting and accounting practices is required. A demonstrated understanding of NIL is preferred. Working knowledge of NCAA rules and compliance practices is required.
Other: Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed for events and athletic functions.
