Job description
General Laborer – Bagging Plant position's primary duty is to make bagged products, which includes filling bags with compost and other blends, as well as making filter socks. This position also performs routine housekeeping of work areas, facility maintenance, landscaping and upkeep cleanliness of heavy equipment. We are a drug free workplace.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:
- Fill bags with compost material and making filter socks.
- Be able to lift objects up to 80lbs.
- Perform routine clean-up of work areas on a daily basis.
- Familiar with use of hand tools (shovels, rakes and brooms, etc.).
- Routine maintenance of landscaping including weeding, watering and planting as directed.
- Wash and clean heavy equipment.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Must be physically fit to frequently lift and carry objects up to 80 pounds
- Must be self-motivated able to meet operational performance standards.
- Must interact with public in professional manner
- Must work as a team member.
- May operate light to medium equipment once fully trained
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school.
EXPERIENCE/OTHER:
- History of good employment attendance - Dependable
- Be able to work flexible hours due to seasonal demands.
- Have a valid Driver’s license.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
To successfully perform the essential duties of this position, an individual must be able to stand or walk for six or more hours per day, and frequently lift and carry objects up to 80 pounds.
Schedule:
- Monday – Friday, 7am – 3:30pm, 8 hour shift
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 per hour
