Edelweiss Bakery has been providing fresh breads, breakfast pastries, coffee, breakfast, lunch and desserts to the residents of Prior Lake and the surrounding communities for 20 years! Located in downtown Prior Lake, Edelweiss serves as a cornerstone of the local community, a place for families and friends to gather.

Position Overview:
As a General Manager at Edelweiss Bakery, you will be the leader of the bakery! The qualified candidate will bring a positive attitude each day to create an environment of belonging and teamwork. Core Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations, including staff scheduling, inventory, and financial performance
- Lead and mentor a team of 20–25 across kitchen and retail roles
- Ensure outstanding guest experiences by maintaining high standards of service and food quality
- Foster a positive, collaborative work culture to support team engagement and retention
- Create and implement training materials for effective onboarding
- Research and develop seasonal products and specialty menus
- Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of all pre-orders and custom requests
- Manage inventory levels, place vendor orders, and oversee receiving and organization
- Maintain ingredient quality standards across all recipes
- Develop and uphold facility and equipment cleaning schedules
- Address customer concerns promptly and professionally
Skills & Qualifications:
- 4+ years of management experience in bakery, restaurant, or retail environments
- Pastry or Culinary degree preferred; equivalent hands-on experience considered
- Reliable, adaptable, and collaborative team leader
- Strong business acumen with an understanding of food costs, pricing, and profitability
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain deadlines and prioritize running effective shifts for all team members
- Comfortable working with common allergens (peanuts, eggs, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood, shellfish)
- Meeting the physical requirements of the role, which may include, but are not limited to, standing for long periods of time, bending, twisting, reaching, lifting up to 55 pounds, and performing routine food service tasks
- Having the ability to obtain and maintain required food safety licenses and certifications
Compensation:
- Salary range: $70,000 - $80,000
Schedule:
- Full-time role with a rotating schedule, available Tuesday through Sunday
- 5 day work week
- Must be flexible to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Bakery is closed Mondays and Major Holidays, with extended paid time off around July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
