GL Accountant
Remote (US - AL, CA, DE, FL, MA, NC, NH, OR, TX, WA) | Full-Time | Reports to: Controller

About the Role:
We are seeking a GL Accountant to join our growing finance team. This role will report directly to the Controller and will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.
You will handle general ledger accounting, accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), and sales tax reporting while helping to improve processes as we scale.
What You’ll Do:
General Ledger Accounting
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accurate and timely month-end close.
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals and adjustments.
- Assist with preparing financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and contribute to building scalable systems.
- Support ad-hoc financial projects and implementation of new accounting software.
Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Manage AR including customer invoicing and collections follow-up.
- Post customer payments and maintain an up-to-date AR aging report.
Accounts Payable (AP)
- Oversee the AP process including verifying invoices, processing payments and managing vendor relationships.
- Ensure timely payment of invoices and manage vendor data collection and relationships.
- Implement and maintain AP policies to improve the automation of processing transactions while maintaining accuracy of AP data.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accurate and timely month-end close.
Sales Tax Reporting
- Prepare sales tax filings across multiple states, ensuring compliance and timely submissions.
- Work with the billing and sales teams to obtain exemption certificates and reseller agreements for large customers.
- Assist with resolving sales and use tax notices as needed.
What We’re Looking For:
- 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a SaaS or technology environment.
- Solid understanding of GAAP.
- Experience with AR, AP, and sales tax filings.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Intacct) and Excel/Google Sheets. Experience with Ramp, Stripe, Deel and sales tax collection platforms is also a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
