Global Finance Business Intelligence Manager
Job Summary:
Chubb is seeking a skilled and experienced Business Intelligence Manager who will be responsible for managing the Global Finance Business Intelligence department, prioritizing efforts, for segment and regional business intelligence teams. This role will report into the Global Finance Data Transformation lead. They will support the organizations strategic transformation goals as well as maintaining the on-going business intelligence operating activities.
The role will be supporting the Corporate Finance leaders, and business segments finance leaders with their BI needs. The team comprises of BI Architects, Visualization Engineers and Product owners. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in understanding business activities, processes, systems, and data architecture in the insurance industry. The ideal candidate will have the necessary experience in design, visualization techniques, and customer journey mapping. They will be able to align with business requirements to the underlying data and be able visualize user experiences effectively.
The individual will be responsible for managing a team that creates visually appealing and interactive designs to enhance the customer experience throughout the requirements process. The role will be responsible for being a thought leader in designing data-driven narratives that transform complex data sets into actionable insights, ultimately fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.
As a senior leader within the organization, this role will require excellent communication skills, both at a technical and non-technical level, and the ability to collaborate and influence key stakeholders and business leaders. The successful applicant will work closely with executive management team applying critical thinking to identify opportunities for growth and optimization.
We are looking for someone who understands the different personas within the organization and can manage each of their needs, respectively. The role will be responsible for sharing information and providing guidance and leadership to our executive management team. Also, the role must bring awareness to the wider value provided by the business intelligence suite of products.
Responsibilities:
- Must be a strategic thinker with an ability to think creatively and analytically.
- Drive the development of business intelligence strategies and roadmaps.
- Oversee a team of technical professionals tasked with delivering Finance BI solutions.
- Analyze data and provide insights to Executive management (C-suite) regarding business performance.
- Creating a unique visual and verbal identity that helps the brand stand out and appeals to the target audience.
- Understanding the target audience and creating messaging that resonates with them to drive engagement.
- Establish and maintain a robust process which enhances and automates any business processes where applicable.
Design and Visualize:
- Develop visually compelling designs, graphical assets, and user interfaces, ensuring they align with project requirements and brand guidelines.
- Utilize advanced visualization tools and techniques to represent complex data and concepts in a visually appealing and easy-to-understand manner.
- Lead a team to Create interactive prototypes to facilitate the exploration of design options and gather feedback from stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of the different personas and ability to manage the brand of business intelligence within the organization.
- Creating compelling and engaging content that aligns with the brand identity and resonates with our stakeholders.
Customer Journey Mapping:
- Work closely with business product owners and to understand end-users' needs, behaviors, and pain points.
- Utilize customer journey mapping techniques to identify and visualize each step of the customer experience, enabling the team to optimize processes and identify areas for enhancement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align customer journey mapping efforts with business objectives and to ensure consistency across touchpoints.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborating closely with C-suite to define and prioritize business intelligence needs and requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, developers, and product managers, to ensure alignment between visual design and technical feasibility.
- Present and communicate visual design concepts and customer journey maps to stakeholders, leveraging storytelling techniques to effectively convey ideas and design intent.
- Act as a consultant and advocate for visualization techniques, providing guidance and support to team members in utilizing effective visualization practices.
- Knowledge of offshore capabilities and experience leading global teams with a focus on collaboration and communication.
- Partnering with the predictive and data teams to establish a robust and scalable BI solution.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization to ensure effective communication and alignment across projects.
Research and Innovation:
- Stay up to date with the latest design trends, visualization tools, and techniques, ensuring continuous improvement of visualization capabilities.
- Understand emerging technologies and visualization tools in the insurance and technology sectors.
- Conduct research and analysis to identify industry best practices and emerging trends in customer journey mapping.
- Propose and implement innovative visualization strategies to elevate the user experience and drive customer satisfaction.
- Assess and recommend visualization applications that can improve data accessibility and insight generation within the organization.
- Maintaining a strong understanding of emerging trends and technologies in business intelligence, analytics, and data warehousing.
- Collaborate with IT and technology teams to implement and integrate advanced visualization solutions that are scalable and sustainable.
Change Management:
- Lead initiatives that promote the adoption of data-driven decision-making and visual analytics within the organization.
- Train and mentor team leaders and executives on best practices in data visualization and interpretation.
- Measure and report on the effectiveness of visualization implementations and iterate based on feedback.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as computer science, engineering, or mathematics
- Proven track record of engaging and delivering for the C-suite.
- 15+ years of relevant experience in Business Intelligence and expert in design
- 10+ years of Insurance Experience or relevant financial services experience
- Proven track record of developing creative and insightful solutions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at both technical and business levels.
- Extensive experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI and Qlik Sense.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into business terms and vice versa.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and teams in a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
- Strong knowledge in SQL database concepts, ETL, and BI technologies
- Experience with cloud technologies such as Azure and Snowflake is a plus.
The pay range for the role is $150,000 to $255,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors.
