McLean County is seeking a Grants Program Manager to lead, coordinate, and strengthen our behavioral health grant-funded programs. This is a unique opportunity to play a central role in shaping systems-level solutions in collaboration with government agencies, service providers, and local stakeholders.
About the Role
As the Grants Program Manager, you'll drive the strategic management of grant-funded projects supporting behavioral health in McLean County. From writing compelling proposals and evaluating program performance to managing budgets and aligning partnerships, you'll help bring innovative, community-centered solutions to life. This role blends project leadership, data-driven decision-making, and public engagement—and offers the chance to contribute to meaningful systems change.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and submit competitive grant proposals, including writing narratives, creating budgets, and coordinating with internal and external partners.
- Oversee active grant projects: track deliverables, manage timelines and spending, and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
- Analyze data and report on outcomes to support transparency, strategic planning, and continuous improvement.
- Engage with community partners, finance teams, and behavioral health stakeholders to ensure grant alignment and fiscal responsibility.
- Coordinate grant review panels, support community involvement, and represent the department on behavioral health planning groups and advisory boards.
- Maintain detailed project documentation and reporting systems.
- Support interns, contractors, and volunteers involved in grant-related initiatives.
- Local travel may be required and will be reimbursed.
What You Bring
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Public Administration, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in grant writing or grant program management.
- Solid understanding of grant compliance, budget tracking, and reporting.
- Familiarity with behavioral health systems and services.
- Excellent writing, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data reporting tools.
- Valid Illinois Driver’s License.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Experience managing federal or state behavioral health grants (e.g., SAMHSA, CDC, HRSA).
- Experience in strategic planning or systems-level public health work.
- Lived experience related to behavioral health challenges or service systems.
- Experience delivering or overseeing behavioral health services.
